Your hotel: The Maritime Hotel, Bantry
European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) - expected mid-2025 ETIAS is the EU's new travel authorisation which you will need to apply for ahead of your travels. It is due to be introduced in mid-2025, but there is not yet an exact date as to when it will come into force. ETIAS will only cost 7 Euros, around £6. ETIAS is free for those aged 71 and over and valid for 3 years. There is one official website to apply for an ETIAS which is www.europa.eu/etias. However, as ETIAS is not currently operational, applications via the website are not yet live.
Holiday Itinerary
Day 1 Early morning departure from your local pick up point, we make our way to Pembroke for the ferry crossing to Rosslare. Travelling on Irish Ferries the crossing takes 3¼ hours. Transfer to the Maldron Hotel, Wexford for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 We travel to Waterford for a coffee stop, short time to browse before making our way round Cork to Blarney where you can kiss the Blarney stone if you like, or spend time in the woollen mills, we have our lunch stop here. We then make our way across the South West of Ireland via Macroon to arrive in Bantry Bay and our hotel for the next 4 nights.
Day 3 After breakfast we have an excursion along the dramatic peninsular to Mizen Head, Ireland's most south-westerly point, stretching into the wild Atlantic Ocean. You have the opportunity to walk across the suspension bridge and visit the Signal Station Visitor's Centre which provides exhilarating views across the bay. In the afternoon we return via The West Cork Village of Clonakilty to our hotel for evening meal.
Day 4 A day at leisure in Bantry, a popular fishing harbour renowned for its mussels and overlooked by the Georgian splendour of Bantry House with its panoramic views of the bay, we include admission to the historic house and gardens, the ancestral home of the Earl's of Bantry, also close by is the interesting French Armada Exhibition Centre.
Day 5 The gorgeous scenery of Beara Peninsula is steeped in myth and legend. The Ring of Beara coastal route passes traditional fishing villages and sandy bays round to Bantry Bay. At Glengariff, catch the Ferry to Garnish Island to find its idyllic Italianate garden.
Day 6 Today we discover more of Irelands southern shores as you travel east via Cork and Youghal towards Waterford for our overnight stop at Dooleys hotel.
Day 7 We transfer to Rosslare for our early morning Irish ferry back to Pembroke. We then make our way east through Wales with suitable stops on-route to arrive in Chelmsford approximately 7.00pm.
