This afternoon we head to Carmarthen, the oldest city in Wales. We have free time to explore and sightsee before returning to our hotel.
Day 3 This morning we travel to the international award winning National Botanic Garden of Wales. Explore an inspiring range of themed gardens that incorporate a blend of the modern and historical, all set in a Regency landscape with Lord Fosters Glass House as the centre piece.
This afternoon we head to Abergwili Junction Station, here we join the Gwili Railway and enjoy a 1.5-hour journey with a delicious cream tea. We travel through breath-taking countryside surroundings, stepping back in time to more genteel days. After our rail journey we travel back to the hotel, making a short stop in Kidwelly if time permits.
Day 4 This morning we travel to the outskirts of Cardiff and visit the beautiful Dyffryn Gardens. We explore this Edwardian Garden which boasts over 55 acres of horticultural varieties which includes a wonderful arboretum, garden rooms and exotic glass houses. This afternoon we travel to the market town of Cowbridge where you are free to explore at leisure. We recommend a visit to the Physic Garden with its glorious display of medicinal plants and herbs that would traditionally have been used for healing, cooking and dyeing fabrics.
