Holiday Itinerary

Day 1 After our departure from your local pick-up point, we travel north with a lunch stop in Stamford, then onto our hotel in the Dales for the next 4 nights.

Day 2 Experience: Newby Hall
Drama lovers will recognise the grand setting of Newby Hall from Peaky Blinders, ITV's Victoria and ITV's Mansfield Park to name a few. At this privately owned family home nestled on the banks of the River Ure, stroll 25 acres of riverside gardens, home to a plant collection awarded Gold at the 2025 RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Find a smile at the whimsical Bear House, featuring former MP Gyles Brandreth's teddy bear collection, and marvel at one of the world's finest doll houses and miniatures galleries.

Day 3 Today we visit Ripon the little city that packs a big punch. Ripon is a cathedral city steeped in history and home to magnificent historical buildings and long observed traditions. Followed by a scenic ride back to our hotel.

Day 4 Experience: Settle-Carlisle Railway
This is Britain's last great mainline built in the Victorian era. Climb to Ais Gill Summit, the highest point reached by any mainline train in England, and pause at Dent, the nation's highest operational station. The route is engineering on an epic scale: 14 tunnels, 22 viaducts and 380 bridges stitched through dales and moorland. Look out for Ribblehead Viaduct and the quirky tale of Lazonby Tunnel, reportedly added at the request of a local vicar who didn't want trains passing the vicarage, free time in Carlisle.

Day 5 Before heading home enjoy a short visit to Harrogate, renowned for its historic mineral springs and stunning Victorian architecture which creates a charming backdrop for leisurely strolls through its manicured gardens. Arrive back in Chelmsford early evening.
