Holiday Itinerary
Day 1 After your local pick-up we leave Chelmsford and travel north, stopping on route for refreshments, arriving early evening at our hotel with time to settle in before dinner.
Day 2 After breakfast we continue north into the Scottish highlands and on to our hotel near Fort William.
Day 3 Embark on a leisurely drive along the Lochside to Oban, known as Scotland's Gateway to the Isles. Catch the 40 minute ferry to the Isle of Mull, where you'll spot the Eilean Musdale Lighthouse and the impressive Duart Castle as our first destination. Delight in a welcome talk from the head guide, exploring the castles history, and savour free time to appreciate the castle rooms, concluding with tea and scones. Afterwards visit Tobermory, the islands capital, renowned for its vibrant houses and store fronts.
Day 4 Time free in Fort William before a brief tour to explore the surrounding area. Witness boats traversing the eight lochs of Neptunes staircase in Banavie, proceed to Spean Bridge for panoramic views of Ben Nevis, and pause for photos at the commando monument. Conclude the day with a cable car ascent 2200ft into the mountains near Ben Nevis, offering a birds-eye view of Fort William and its lakes. The location features a café.
Day 5 Board the train in Fort William and embark on one of the most scenic railway journeys in Britain. Traverse through glens, along Loch sides and across the breath taking 21-arch Glenfinnan Viaduct. Upon reaching Mallaig your coach awaits to board the ferry "over the sea to Skye including the Cullin Mountains, before a lunch at a local hotel (included). After lunch explore Skye and cross the bridge at Kyle, making a stop at the renowned Eilean Donan Castle. As the road ascends steadily at Glen Shiel, the Five Sisters of Kintail come into view.
Day 6 We leave our hotel this morning and make our way south through the lovely Scottish countryside arriving at our overnight hotel in time for our evening meal.
Day 7 After breakfast we make our way home with suitable stops on-route arriving back in Chelmsford early evening.
