On this tour we visit 4 markets in 3 different countries, Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands, where we also stay in the picturesque town of Valkenburg with castle ruins that tower majestically above the medieval streets.
Holiday includes: 3 nights dinner, bed & breakfast accommodation, entrance to Christmas cave and shuttle buses, return channel crossing, excursions as described, executive coach travel, passports required, currency Euro.
Holiday Itinerary
Day 1 Departing from your close-to-home pick-up at approximately 6.00am we head to Dover for our crossing to Calais. Heading through France we stop for lunch on the way to arrive in Valkenburg late afternoon in time for dinner.
Day 2 This morning, we visit the lovely German town of Monschau, the 'Gem of the Eifel Region' located on the banks of a small river and overlooked from opposite hillsides by the ruins of a stone watchtower and an old palace, Monschau is a classically pretty town. We continue to Aachen every year the squares and alleys around Aachen's town hall and cathedral are transformed into a festive Christmas Market. Enjoy visiting the many stalls whilst sipping a warming cup of mulled wine and sampling a Bratwurst hot dog.
Day 3 Today we are free to enjoy the two large Christmas markets in Valkenburg. Enjoy the Christmas cheer in the community caves. Valkenburg is the oldest and biggest underground Christmas market in Europe you will be surprised by the lovely Christmas gifts and other luxuries on offer. You can also visit the attractive shops and cafés in the pedestrian area on the way back to the hotel.
Day 4 We leave Germany today and travel through Belgium and France stopping in Bruges, time permitting, on the way back to Calais for our crossing to Dover arriving in Chelmsford mid-evening.
