A Sailing Story from the Solent to Sussex

Holiday Itinerary

Day 1 Depart from your home area travelling to Hampshire with suitable stops on route arriving at the Langstone Quays Resort for a 4 night's stay with dinner, bed and breakfast.

Day 2 Meet your local guide for the day, who will bring to life some of the world-famous local history including a visit to the D-Day Story Museum telling the moving story of Liberation in Europe. Enjoy free time in the historic village of Southwick with its own D-Day story to tell and perhaps enjoy lunch in one of the local pubs. This afternoon continues to the fascinating Fort Nelson, a Victorian fortress overlooking Portsmouth harbour with 19 acres of ramparts and tunnels packed with artillery from across the world.

Day 3 Enjoy a trip across the Solent today on the world's only year-round passenger hovercraft service, whisking you from the shoreline at Southsea to the charming resort of Ryde on the Isle of Wight, with plenty of time to explore this quaint seaside town at leisure. You may wish to visit the unique Donald McGill naughty postcard museum or browse the great independent shops and cafes on offer.

Day 4 Today we spend time in Portsmouth setting you down at Gunwharf Quays where you can enjoy the shopping and eateries or try the Spinnaker Tower for a bird's eye view of Portsmouth and across to the Isle of Wight. Also in this area is the Portsmouth Historic Dock offering a look into some amazing maritime history.

Day 5 We leave the hotel after breakfast and head back making a stop in the historical town of Arundel with its impressive castle and arrive back in our local area early evening.
