Holiday Itinerary

Day 1 After our local pick-ups, we head north, stopping on route to arrive at the Cedar Court Hotel early evening in time to settle in before our evening meal. Tea/coffee on arrival.

Day 2 Early morning, we begin with a drive to the pleasant North Yorkshire market town of Settle. Here we enjoy a ride on the Settle and Carlisle Railway, considered to be one of England's mast scenic rail journeys. We join the diesel train for the journey, passing through spectacular scenery, crossing the famous Ribblehead viaduct to Kirby Stephen. We rejoin the coach for the short journey into Hawes, the main town of Wensleydale where we have a chance to get lunch, with the rest of the afternoon free to explore the town home to the Dales Countryside Museum, Wensleydale Creamery, and traditional shops.

Day 3 Today we travel to Bury where we can browse the world famous Bury Market. Often voted market of the year in Britain's favourite market, you`ll find over 350 stalls to visit! Afterwards, explore Bury at leisure and enjoy lunch. Later, we make our way to board our narrowboat for a cruise along the Leeds Liverpool canal with Kittywake Canal Cruises. Our cruise passes through beautiful countryside where you can take in Lancashire's nature and wildlife. A lovely relaxing afternoon.

Day 4 Today we head off along the Aire Valley to Skipton- Gateway to the Dales, with Skipton Castle standing proudly at the top of the street. Take a stroll around the town and explore some of the interesting little alleyways and shops. From Skipton we make our way to Haworth home of the famous Bronte sisters and their notorious brother. Little has changed in the village since they lived at the Parsonage. Later, we enjoy a steam train ride along the delightful Worth Valley, following the locations used in the film ` The Railway Children `. We return to the hotel in time for a drink before dinner.

Day 5 Today we say goodbye to our hosts and head south with suitable stops on route back to Essex arriving early evening approx.
