Holiday Itinerary

Day 1 Leaving Chelmsford early morning, we make a leisurely journey to Sidmouth stopping on route for refreshments, arriving at the hotel late afternoon with time for you to settle in before our evening meal.

Day 2 After a leisurely breakfast we make our way to Bicton Park Botanical Gardens, a privately owned garden with ten feature gardens, a historic feature garden inspired by Versailles, a countryside museum, a woodland railway and much more. In the afternoon we visit The Donkey Sanctuary a tranquil corner of the Jurassic Coast near Sidmouth that hundreds of friendly donkeys call home, and they're all waiting to meet you.

Day 3 A free day in this delightful floral resort to enjoy the Regency architecture, magnificent Conaught Gardens, local attractions or just relax on the beach.

Day 4 Today we visit Buckfast Abbey, home to a community of 13 Benedictine monks, here we encounter the serenity of 1000-year old Buckfast Abbey, sitting quietly beside the River Dart, a refuge from hectic modern life, we then board the South Devon Railway to relive the golden days of travel on a journey on the multi-award-winning South Devon Railway, along seven miles of stunning valley countryside from Buckfastleigh to Totnes, in the shadow of Dartmoor and the Devon hills.

Day 5 After our final breakfast we take our leave of Sidmouth and make our journey homewards, stopping on route for refreshments, arriving in Chelmsford early evening.
