Your hotel: Mercure Reims Paris Parc des Expositions

European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) - expected mid-2025 ETIAS is the EU's new travel authorisation which you will need to apply for ahead of your travels. It is due to be introduced in mid-2025, but there is not yet an exact date as to when it will come into force. ETIAS will only cost 7 Euros, around £6. ETIAS is free for those aged 71 and over and valid for 3 years. There is one official website to apply for an ETIAS which is www.europa.eu/etias. However, as ETIAS is not currently operational, applications via the website are not yet live.

Holiday Itininerary

Day 1 Departing from your local pick up point we head for Dover and the short ferry crossing to Calais. On route we make a stop in Arras for lunch arriving in Reims late afternoon, at our hotel. We are welcomed with a Glass of Champagne on arrival.

Day 2 We start the day in Reims where we are joined by a local guide who will escort us on a walking tour of the city. Free leisure time in the centre to find lunch before a visit to the famous Mumm & Co Champagne House to enjoy a tour and tasting. Return to the hotel for our evening meal.

Day 3 For today's tour we follow the 'Route Touristique de Champagne' travelling through the beautiful countryside and delightful fields of vineyards making our way to Epernay. We will have a short stop in Hautvillers, a village famous as being the birthplace of Dom Perignon, before enjoying some free time in Epernay with time for lunch. In the afternoon we visit the Avenue du Champagne, lined with impressive Champagne houses such as Moet & Chandon and Champagne Mercier. We will enjoy a guided tour of Champagne Mercier by a train through their cellars followed by a tasting.

Day 4 We leave after breakfast departing Reims and head back to Calais stopping on the way at one of the little towns on route, maybe Saint Omer. We continue onto Calais for the ferry crossing arriving back in Chelmsford early evening about 8.00pm.
