Paignton is part of the stunning English Riviera, situated on the South Devon coastline in sheltered Torbay and is very popular with families and couples looking for a quiet break. Paignton is the central town in Torbay, Torbay includes Torquay, Brixham and Paignton. Paignton is traditionally known as a family holiday resort. Why? Simply because of its beaches and friendly atmosphere. Like all of Torbay, Paignton was frequented by Victorians and some of the architecture still remains.

 

Holiday includes: 4 nights dinner, bed & breakfast, Dartmouth Steam Railway, Kingswear Ferry, River Dart Cruise, Donkey Sanctuary, excursions as described, executive coach travel.

Holiday Itinerary

Day 1: After your local pick up we travel towards Torquay stopping on route for refreshments. We arrive at the delightful hotel with time to find our room and settle in before our evening meal.

Day 2: Our day begins with a drive to Plymouth where we sail from the historic barbican and enjoy a cruise on the River Tamar, viewing the warships and dockyards. We have time to explore the city and obtain lunch before we head north to Oakhampton and make our way across Dartmoor to Bovey Tracey and back to Torquay.

Day 3: A tour beginning with a drive to Moretonhampstead and the House of Marbles for coffee stop a working glass and games factory making unusual range of traditional games. From here we make our way to the coast, Teignmouth and delightful Dawlish. We spend time here with chance to explore and obtain lunch before we head back to Torquay

Day 4: After breakfast this morning we travel to Paignton for our steam train journey to Kingswear, then cross the River Dart on a foot passenger ferry to Dartmouth where we board a boat for a circular river Cruise (approximately 1 hour) around the river and estuary. There'll be some free time afterwards in Dartmouth before the return train from Kingswear to Paignton.

Day 5: We say farewell to Torbay and travel homewards stopping on route for refreshments arriving in the Chelmsford area early evening.
