Holiday Itinerary

Day 1 Depart from your home area in the morning travelling to Yorkshire arriving late afternoon at the Cedar Court Hotel Harrogate.

Day 2 After breakfast this morning we drive north to the village of Bolton Abbey. Here we will explore the Bolton Priory - ruins of a 12th century Augustinian monastery ordered to be dissolved in 1539 by King Henry VIII.

We then board the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway for a return ride. Settle back in the beautifully restored Victorian and Edwardian carriages and enjoy a unique view of some of Yorkshire's finest countryside.

In the afternoon we make our way to the former spa town of Ilkley where we will visit the famous Betty's Teamrooms to enjoy tasty delights with a voucher of £30pp value to spend. You can choose a sit in visit or perhaps select some sweet treats to take home. We then journey back to the hotel, riding over Ilkley Moor to view the 'Cow and Calf'. A large boulder and a smaller one sitting close to it, like a cow and calf, gives this unique rock formation its name.

Day 3 Today is the highlight of the tour - a journey on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway - the 'Railway Children Line'. We will board a steam train for a leisurely ride along the line, making stops along the way, including Oakworth Station which has been restored in Edwardian style and was made famous in the film.

After our train journey ends, we explore the town of Haworth, visiting the Bronte Parsonage Museum. This location also featured in scenes within the film.

Day 4 Free time in Harrogate before making our return journey home with sufficient refreshment stops on route, arriving home early evening.
